Overview
The Xiaomi Poco F3 is a big step up from the Poco X3 NFC, except for the price. When you think about what you get, it’s a great deal.
The 120Hz AMOLED screen and Snapdragon 870 processor make it feel like a “flagship” than other phones with similar prices.
The Poco F3 is an excellent option for gamers and media lovers on a tight budget. We can’t think of a phone with a better display and near-flagship performance levels for the same price.
The battery life of the Poco F3 is also perfect. It can last for a full day of heavy use. It also gives more power and charges faster than Apple or Samsung do with their 33W fast chargers.
Of course, some things had to be given up to get to this lower-middle-of-the-road price point. There is no wireless charging or an IP rating, and the frame is made of plastic instead of metal.
The camera system on the phone has been cut back the most, which is a shame. Photos taken with the Poco F3 will look sharp and natural if there is enough light and you use the 48MP primary camera. There is no camera with a long lens. So, at best, the ultra-wide lens is just average. Even when the photos were taken in the middle of the night, there was an evident loss of detail.
In other ways, MIUI, Xiaomi’s Android skin, is still a bit of a mixed bag. This interface is customizable, but it comes with bloatware, and it has some annoying rough edges that you don’t get with native Android user interfaces.
The Xiaomi Poco F3 is one of the best Xiaomi phones at this price point, and nothing about it changes that. If you want a flagship-like experience, you can get the Samsung Galaxy A52 5G or the Google Pixel 4a, but this is better than both.
